EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
ECOL’s Employment Strategy project seeks to improve access to employability services for English-speaking Quebecers in the Lanaudière region.
English-speakers in Quebec, despite having higher levels of education than their French counterparts, are more likely to be underemployed and underpaid. They are also less aware of or likely to use the employment services available to them.
ECOL is working with the regional employment agencies (including, but not limited to, Carrefour jeunesse emploi) to increase services and documentation available in English.
We can offer individual accompaniment, workshops for job seekers and translation services.
We also promote job listings of employers willing and eager to hire English-speakers in our region. The list is updated every Wednesday on our Facebook Youth page.

VALUABLE RESOURCES
We Want Your English !
We Want Your English ! was created as a way to showcase the most popular jobs available in Lanaudière that list the English language as part of their requirements. As more and more employers move in the Lanaudière region because of its quality of life, close access to Montreal and qualified workers, many of them are looking for bilingual (even trilingual) people. The types of jobs include but not limited to, Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and IT.
Why ? Because many of these employers are working with clients at the international level and these clients deserve the best service.
Here are two videos representing the types of skills required by Arbraska and by Industries Harnois for different types of positions they offer and the education levels required to access these employment opportunities. From High School to Vocational School to a higher education certification, there is a place for you.
